Songtember - 2022

Hi! Welcome to my Songtember 2022 page!

I'll try to write as  many songs as I can but only if i'm having fun, 

Enjoy and feel free to ask for downloads for personal listening!

Day 1 - Floof - First song of the music jam Songtember! This one is based on the prompt "Short" - Just a small and simple song based on a specific DX7 cartridge

Day 2 - Sauce - Was jamming and this was the result, a lot of analog mixing and a spicy drum sound, really happy with the result, maybe should've mixed a little bit more

Day 3 - Myriad of Days - Couldn't think of anything so I asked my girlfriend to help me write this one (she's not a musician), she hummed the melodies, the drums and decided the samples/synths, overall I'm pretty happy because we hang out and the song goes kinda hard

Day 4 - Banjo n Bass - I was sugested to do a Banjocore, I think the idea was a metal banjo song, I read as a HappyCore Banjo song and in the end it's a Drum n Bass with banjo and the Faustão, it happens

Day 5 - Run and Gun - Song using accurate specs from the NES, so it's just two square tracks, one triangle track and one noise and sample track, inspired by the NES Megaman games

Day 6 - Punch - This one was really fun, in the beginning was just a riff salad but then I glued everything with some lead and extra riffs, really happy with the mix also (considering it was mixed in 30min)

Day 7 - End of the Day - Had this idea for a long time, loved the sound, it's really similar to the Ace Attorney games, specially the songs after the trials, where everything is all right

Day 8 - Dreams Come True - Didn't have much time on this one, only small breaks during the day, that being said, played safe to make a cool track, drunk beat, some guitar and bass and boom, LoFi, loved the saturation on this one

Day 9 - Chunky Bit - Another suggestion from a friend, already did a chip metal in the last songtember and now this one upped the last one, happy with the mix, wanted more time to polish but that's the nature of the challenge

Day 10 - We Both - I was missing the sounds of Cytrus, a FL Studio synth, so I booted FL Studio for the first time in almost 6 years and worked on a small sketch with these sounds, it's my longer track but it's really simple and sounded like my old songs

Day 11 - Spice - Was basically jamming with the guitar till I got some stuff and worked from there, yesterday I spent a lot of time on the track so today I took it easy

Day 12 - Journey - Didn't have time at all for this one, the synths sound cool but not so happy with the drums, maybe will do a rework in the future

Day 13 - My Dear -  When I was sketching the song I was kinda happy with the result but now i'm just confused, it's catchy but you can't hear much of the voice I think, the jam in the end is really Jet Set Radioish

Day 14 - Noir Crime Drama Kids - This one is for a soundtrack of a short film i'm working with some amazing people, it's a noir vibe so the vintage jazz fits really well, i'm not sure if the second sax melody is mine or I subcounciously rearranged from somewhere

Day 15 - Candy - Decided to do a pop punk because it's easier for me but instead I focused too much on the track and it was harder... classic. Pretty cool tho

Day 16 - Hanging Over - The idea was to make an minimalistic funky track, I do like some of the ideas but I don't know where to go from here

Day 17 - Days - Really happy with this one, I was going to make a Megaman style chiptune but instead make a 80s pop with chiptunes

Day 18 - Misty - Made with a headache, so I did something not that dynamic, not that loud, kinda simple ambient gameish track, texture pads and arps do a lot for a song with so little movement

Day 19 - Communication - This one is more vanilla than usual, it's because I wrote this one for a video that i'm making for a class i'm taking, so it's just background sound, sounds like The Sims with a Sweet Child o Mine progression

Day 20 - Friday Night - Full 80s, everything is an emulation or sample for 80s based stuff, synths like DX7 and M1, Lynn on the drums, a lot of tape, a lot of Neve EQs and such. Simple chord progression but I liked the vibe

Day 21 - Score - Kinda snapped on this one, spent too much time but it's how it goes sometimes, maybe I'll expand on this one in the future

Day 22 - Stop the Rain - I tried really hard to not just remake Game of Love from Daft Punk, oh well, almost. But I love the vibe and the lyrics are really meaningful to me

Day 23 - Nostalgia - I was trying to make something in the vibe of #2 or #11 from my Songtember 2021, so I used the same style of instruments and presets, okay song but needs a top end, sounds like something but I can't quite figure out what
